Mental Health
The Cherry Creek School District has a comprehensive system of mental health supports across our schools to help students grow and thrive along their educational journey.
Support in School
School psychologists and social workers in our schools embrace preventative and early intervention models designed to meet the mental health, social-emotional and behavioral needs of all students. Please reach out to your child’s school psychologist or social worker if your child needs support.
Hazel Health
CCSD partners with Hazel Health to offer no-cost tele-health therapy sessions for students in all grades. Families can learn more and access care now.
Traverse Academy
Traverse Academy is a program for students (grades 4 - 12) within CCSD who are experiencing a mental health crisis. Specifically, the program will offer nine hours of Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) care each week and will be integrated with customized educational programming. Following the IOP programming, students will move into transitional programming aimed at preparing students to successfully return to their home schools. The length of attendance as well as the clinical and educational support offered will vary based on student needs. The average length of attendance for a student could range from 8-12 weeks or longer in some cases. All eligible students will receive care regardless of insurance.

Targeted Attendance Support (EARSS Grant Partners)
CCSD participates in the “Expelled and At-Risk Student Services (EARSS)” grant and employs teams to provide interventions and supports for students determined to be at risk for chronic absence or expulsion. It aims to support students with the goal of reducing discipline, habitual truancy, and chronic absence. The program is operating in all our high schools in the district and has already shown evidence of being effective in helping students stay engaged and in school.

Online Learning: Cherry Creek Elevation
Cherry Creek Elevation is an enriched virtual model with a wide range of rigorous courses that meet or exceed the standards and course requirements of Cherry Creek School District and the State of Colorado. Students who are interested in classes, activities, and athletics not offered by Elevation could potentially participate at their neighborhood school. Classes are delivered in an online platform and there are weekly face-to-face, synchronous and asynchronous sessions (both live and recorded) to support student learning and provide hands-on, real-world learning opportunities.
