Eaglecrest CEEB School Code: 060-066
Each year, students take a standardized test to help prepare them for the SAT test they will take during their Junior and Senior years. Standardized tests scores are used in the application process to most colleges and universities.
Khan Academy
Khan Academy offers free online SAT prep for high school students. Students are able to personalize their SAT practice. Students can access Khan Academy at https://www.khanacademy.org/test-prep/sat.
Practice SAT (PSAT)
The practice SAT test is available to sophomores and juniors mid-October. The PSAT is the qualifying exam for the National Merit Scholar program. National Merit Scholars are juniors who score in the top 0.5% nation for all PSAT testers.
National SAT
The SAT is another standardized test used in the admission process. Some colleges and universities will ask for the SAT test, specifically those on the East Coast, West Coast and highly selective schools. This test should be taken in addition to the ACT.
Advanced Placement Exams (AP)
Freshman through Seniors who elect to take an Advance Placement class will have the option to take the final test in early May. These exams are scores on a scale of 1 to 5 and depending on the individual's score, they may be able to use it towards college credit. Registration can be completed through CollegeBoard and a subsequent Google form at the start of the school year.
