Hospitality & Tourism Certifications

  • Hospitality & Tourism students have the opportunity to earn industry certifications in both the Lodging & Resort Management program and the ProStart program:

    sERVsAFE

    ServSafe® is administered by the National Restaurant Association and certify responsible food service measures. The ServSafe® Food Handler certification focuses on five sections: Basic Food Safety, Personal Hygiene, Cross-Contamination and Allergens, Time & Temperature, & Cleaning and Sanitation. The ServSafe® Manager certification teaches about foodborne illness, how to prevent it and how to train employees in food sanitation.

    CGSP

    Guest Service Gold® is administered by the American Hotel & Lodging Education Institute (AHLEI). This comprehensive program focuses on developing guest service-oriented line level employees who know how to engage with their guests to provide memorable guest service.

    CHTMP

    Certified Hospitality & Tourism Management Professional (CHTMP) is administered by the American Hotel & Lodging Education Institute (AHLEI). Individuals can demonstrate they are prepared for a position in the hospitality industry by achieving this professional certificate.
